Actor-activist Deep Sidhu arrested: Violence had erupted at the Red Fort and a major clash occurred between Delhi Police and Farmers on 26th January 2020, Republic Day. He was arrested from Karnal, Haryana by Delhi Police on Tuesday. The Delhi police had announced that anyone who gives information leading to Deep Sidhu, Jugraj Singh, Gurjot Singh & Gurjant Singh would be awarded with cash prize of Rs 1 lakh. And anyone who leads to arrest of Jajbir Singh, Buta Singh, Sukhdev Singh & Iqbal Singh would be awarded Rs. 50,000. Deep Sidhu is a major accuse to fuel chaos and clashes when a tractor rally by farmers protesting against the Centre's three farm laws went rogue on January 26. Deep Sidhu, 36, had also posted videos on Facebook defending himself, the teams of Delhi police's crime branch also hunted for him. According to the sources, the videos were uploaded by his friend abroad. He had hit back at the farmers saying, "If I'm being labeled a gaddar (traitor), then all farmer leaders are gaddars." In one of his videos, he also mentioned that farmer leaders of backtracking on their protests. Farmers have been protesting at Delhi borders. Despite 11 rounds of meeting between the protesting farmers and the Centre, no conclusion has come out so far. No date has been fixed for the next meeting. The farmers have been protesting against the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, and Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020. -PTC News
