Coronavirus cases in Punjab rise to 1,731; death toll 29

The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 1,731 after 87 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, as of Thursday evening. The death toll in the state has increased to 29 after new death was reported from Mohali. According to the media bulletin issued by the Punjab Health Department, Gurdaspur reported 24 new cases while Amritsar and Jalandhar reported 11 new cases each. Nawanshahr reported 18 new cases of coronavirus while Kapurthala reported 5 COVID-19 cases and Fatehgarh Sahib reported 4 new cases. Barnala, Bathinda and Mansa reported one new case each. Amritsar is on the top of the tally with 287 cases followed by Jalandhar at 158, Tarn Taran at 157, Ludhiana at 125. Gurdaspur has reported 115 cases of coronavirus while SBS Nagar has 103 cases. Mohali and Patiala stand at 95. Hoshiarpur has reported 89 cases. Sangrur stands at 88 while Muktsar stands at 65. A total of 56 cases have been reported from Moga, 45 from Faridkot. Ferozepur has recorded 43 cases of coronavirus so far. Pathankot is having 27 cases while Fatehgarh Sahib has 24 cases and Kapurthala has 23. Barnala has reported 21 cases while 20 cases have been reported from Mansa and 16 from Ropar. Meanwhile, 1550 are active cases while 152 people have been cured and discharged. -PTC News
