Amitabh Bachchan celebrates 80th birthday; PM Modi, B-town celebs extend greetings
Mumbai, October 11 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended birthday wishes to Megastar Amitabh Bachchan as the latter turned 80 on Tuesday. Marking Big B's special day, PM Modi called him an actor who has enthralled and entertained audiences across generations. "A very happy 80th birthday to Amitabh Bachchan Ji. He is one of India's most remarkable film personalities who has enthralled and entertained audiences across generations. May he lead a long and healthy life. @SrBachchan," Modi tweeted.

Like many other admirers, veteran actor Anupam Kher also did not miss a chance to extend his heartfelt greetings to Big B on his special day. Kher penned a heartwarming post for Amitabh on Instagram. "Adarniya Amit ji. Janamdin ki dher sari shubhkamnaye. Prabhu apko lambi aur swasth ayu pradan kare. Aap mere lie na keval abhineta ke roop me prernatamak hai balki akhri rasta se uuncha tak aapke sath kaam krke jeevan ke alag alag pehlu ke bare me seekhne ko bhaut kuch mila. ( Dear Amit ji! Wishing you a very happy birthday. May God bless you with a long and healthy life. You are an inspiration to me. Alongside the note, Kher dropped a string of images with Big B.
Daughter Shweta Bachchan paid a heartfelt tribute to him on social media.
Taking to Instagram, Shweta shared a bunch of photographs featuring her adorable moments spent with her father. In one of the images, we can see Big B holding little Shweta's hands.
Another picture shows little Big B standing with his late parents Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan.
For the caption, Shweta chose to use the lyrics of Abida Parveen and Naseebo Lal's song 'Tu Jhoom'.

Apart from Shweta, Amitabh's granddaughter Navya, too, penned a heartwarming post for him on his 80th birthday.
She took a stroll down memory lane and dropped her childhood picture with her 'nana'.
"Tu na thakega kabhi tu na rukega kabhi tu na mudega kabhi kar shapath kar shapath kar shapath agnipath agnipath agnipath.There never has, and never will be anyone like you . happy birthday nana," Navya captioned the post.
