WhatsApp in 2021: In a piece of sad news for some iOS and Android phone users, WhatsApp will end supporting some of the devices after January 2021. WhatsApp will initially stop working on smartphones that are using outdated operating systems like those below iOS 9 or Android 4.0.3 operating systems. As per the report, the iPhones that do not run on iOS 9 will not be able to run WhatsApp on their phones from 2021. The iPhone models include all the iPhone 4 and previous models. The iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6S users will have to update their phones to iOS 9 or later if they want to continue using WhatsApp. The iPhone 6S, 6 Plus, and iPhone SE first generation can also be updated to iOS 14. On the other hand, the Android phones below Android 4.0.3 will not be able to use WhatsApp. This includes models such as HTC Desire, LG Optimus Black, Motorola Droid Razr, the Samsung Galaxy S2. Meanwhile, there could be several other Android phones that could lose support for WhatsApp in 2021. If you don't know about the operating system that you are using on your iPhone or Android phone, you can go to settings to check it. If you are an iPhone user, go to Settings > General > Information. You can easily check the software details of your iPhone. Likewise, for Android users, you can go to Settings > About Phone. So, if you have the option of updating phones to the latest software, do that. For those, who do not have the option of updating, they will have to get a new phone if they wish to access WhatsApp.
