Air India Express flight catches fire in Muscat; passengers evacuated
New Delhi, September 14: At least 14 people were injured after an Air India Express flight caught fire at Muscat airport in Oman on Wednesday, sources said.
Passengers were evacuated after smoke started billowing out of a Kochi-bound Air India Express flight, The Times of Oman reported.
The incident reportedly took place while the flight was on the runway preparing for take-off from Muscat to Kochi. The travellers were told to evacuate the aircraft on emergency slides during the incident, officials said.

As per the media reports, there were at least 145 passengers on board, including four infants. The evacuated passengers were shifted to the terminal building.
