'Agniveers' will be given guaranteed state govt jobs, says Haryana CM
Haryana, June 21: Joining the bandwagon of several states which announced benefits to Agniveers, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday assured that cadets who will be enrolled under the Agnipath scheme will be given jobs in the state government after completing their four-year stint in the armed forces.
“Those who want to get Haryana Govt jobs will be given guaranteed jobs. Those who want can get inducted into any cadre for Group C jobs. Otherwise, we have jobs in the police, which will be given to them,” the Haryana CM said on Tuesday.
This comes as protests over the recently announced military recruitment scheme rage in places such as Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, and Bihar.
"The youth of the state have the enthusiasm to serve the country," he previously stated, "and this is why Haryana has the highest number of youths serving in the Army."

Agniveers would be paid well, the CM stated last Wednesday (June 15), adding that they would be paid Rs 4.76 lakh in the first year, rising to Rs 6.96 lakh.
"They will be rewarded around Rs 12 lakh when they return after four years." Other benefits, allowances, and insurance will be provided," he promised.
The unveiling of the Agnipath scheme sparked violent protests across the country, with angry defence job aspirants demanding its cancellation, citing only a four-year term for 75% of those recruited under it.
Several amendments and support measures have been proposed by the Centre and BJP-ruled states in recent days to quell concerns about the recruitment plan and appease protesters.
