After UP CMO, hackers target UGC India's Twitter account

New Delhi, April 10: The official Twitter account of the University Grants Commission (UGC) India was hacked on Sunday, becoming the third prominent target of hackers in the last two days. Earlier, the official Twitter accounts of the UP Chief Minister's Office and the Indian Meteorological Department of India were also hacked. The breach came to notice when some unidentified hackers took control of UGC India's Twitter account and shared a long thread of irrelevant tweets tagging multiple unknown people across the world. The hacker also used a cartoonist picture as the profile photo for the account. Currently, the Twitter handle with the username @ugc_india has around 2,96,000 followers and is also linked to its official website. "Twitter Account (@Indiametdept) of India Meteorological Department had been hacked this evening. It has now been restored. @PIB_India@moesgoi@DDNewslive," IMD had tweeted. UGC India's Twitter account hacked (2) Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Twitter account has also been hacked in the past, making the security breach of government accounts all the more serious.
