After expressing concern, Justin Trudeau commends Modi govt's efforts amid farmers’ protest
The Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who earlier expressed concern over the ongoing farmers’ protest in India, has now hailed the Centre’s efforts to handle the situation through dialogue.
The Ministry of External Affairs (India) on Friday said that Justin Trudeau, during telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, commended the Centre's efforts to choose the path of dialogue in dealing with the farmers’ protest in India.

PM Modi and Trudeau had a conversation via telephone on Wednesday during which both the sides discussed a range of issues including the coronavirus crisis.
On farmer protest, PM Trudeau commended efforts of the govt of India to choose the path of dialogue as befitting a democracy," said Anurag Srivastava, MEA Spokesperson.

"He also acknowledged the responsibility of his govt in providing protection to Indian diplomatic personnel and premises in Canada," he added.
Trudeau informed Prime Minister Modi about Canada's requirements of COVID-19 vaccines from India after which PM Modi assured the him that India would do its best to support Canada's vaccination efforts, just as it had done for many other countries already.
Meanwhile, the leaders looked forward to meeting each other in various important international for a later this year, and continuing their discussions on all issues of mutual interest.
