Coronavirus cases in Punjab rise to 1,823; death toll 31
The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 1823 after 61 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, as of Sunday evening. The death toll in the state has increased to 31. According to the media bulletin issued by the Punjab Health Department, Mohali reported 7 new cases while Amritsar and Fatehgarh Sahib reported 8 new cases each. Ropar reported 35 new cases of coronavirus while Moga, Kapurthala and Patiala reported one COVID-19 case each. Amritsar is on the top of the tally with 295 cases followed by Jalandhar at 175, Tarn Taran at 157, Ludhiana at 125. Gurdaspur has reported 116 cases of coronavirus while SBS Nagar has 103 cases. Mohali has 102 cases while Patiala stands at 97. Hoshiarpur has reported 90 cases. Sangrur stands at 88 while Muktsar stands at 65. A total of 57 cases have been reported from Moga, 55 from Ropar, 45 from Faridkot. Fatehgarh Sahib has 36 cases while Pathankot has 29 cases. Kapurthala has 25. Barnala has reported 21 cases while 20 cases have been reported from Mansa. Meanwhile, 1626 are active cases while 166 people have been cured and discharged. -PTC News
