Coronavirus cases in Punjab reach 1451; death toll 25
The total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 1451 after 219 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, as of Tuesday evening. The death toll in the state has increased to 25 after two new deaths were reported from Hoshiarpur and Amritsar. According to the media bulletin issued by the Punjab Health Department, Tarn Taran reported 47 new cases while Jalandhar reported 6 new cases of coronavirus. Gurdaspur reported 48 COVID-19 cases while Kapurthala reported 5 new cases of the deadly disease. Meanwhile, Patiala also reported a new case of coronavirus. Ludhiana reported 14 new cases, while Mukrtsar recorded 15 new cases. Sangrur also recorded new cases. A total of 22 new cases were reported from Sangrur. Faridkot reported 27 new cases while Fazilka reported 34. Amritsar is on the top of the tally with 218 cases followed by Jalandhar at 134, Ludhiana at 124, Mohali at 95, Hoshiarpur at 88 and Patiala, Tarn Taran at 87. SBS Nagar and Sangrur stand at 85 each, while 84 cases have been reported from Gurdaspur, 64 from Muktsar and 45 from Faridkot. Ferozepur has recorded 42 cases of coronavirus so far.
